EMINENCE LAUNCH - Di Nardo for REAL

Our latest addition to the REAL range is The Eminence sports jacket. The Eminence is a collaboration with Signor Filippo Lecesse Di Nardo, an Italian master craftsman of distinction, from Turin. Specialising in leather goods, Filippo devotes himself to the creation of one-off, hand-made products that have no equal. Filippo’s reputation for excellence is echoed in REAL’s mission statement:

A relentless attitude of innovation and improvement in the creation of high-functioning, design-driven, luxury sportswear, to inspire and delight our customers.

Filippo is recognised as the foremost creator of leather boxing gloves. Whether his gloves grace arenas in front of global audiences or a glass cabinet display in a museum, they are the preserve of an exclusive elite. 

 Inspired by boxers, REAL makes precise and considered sportswear using luxury and advanced fabrics. Our collaboration with boxing gloves of global distinction is loyal to craft and elegant artistry, while steeped in simplicity. We are beyond proud to have achieved such excellent results.

The Eminence is prepared with performance functionality at the heart of its construction and designed with recreational, understated sophistication. It is built using a ripstop fabric, woven by an Italian mill that’s globally renowned for their advanced materials. With 1% carbon added to the blend, the fabric boasts exceptional tensile strength, elevated strength-to-weight ratio and a high-tolerance to temperature. The ripstop’s structured composition ensures longevity of form and a resistance to tearing or creasing. The generous elastane component allows full freedom of motion without drag, accommodating vigorous movements.

The main-body fabric is lined for comfort. The inner mesh lining is treated with an antibacterial finish to maintain equilibrium of all odours. An additional treatment to the lightweight lining elevates the performance of wicking moisture away from the skin. Styled by a paired-back aesthetic the Eminence is designed for time in recovery and your leisurely to-and-fro. A lightweight talisman as the weather changes through the seasons.

We wished to create enduring quality. Following our sustainable motto of ‘buy less - buy well’, we sourced a fabric with unrivalled strength to form the basis of our Eminence jacket. Happy with the fine material, our paired back design is purposefully simplified to allow the fabric quality to be self-evident. 

When something truly is, there is no point to prove. Strength, like confidence comes as a result of evidence. In this instance true strength comes from 99% dedication and 1% carbon.
