DO MORE FOR YOURSELF - SO YOU CAN BE MORE FOR OTHERS

DO MORE FOR YOURSELF - SO YOU CAN BE MORE FOR OTHERS

When so much of our time is absorbed in the pursuit of what needs to get done, it is important we take responsibility for ourselves. Being responsible to others gives us great purpose and meaning, but we are only capable of giving our best if we do what’s best for ourselves in equal measure.

Exercise in all of its forms, is a conduit to equilibrium. When the body is busy, the mind is empty and it is during this meditative state, free from distractions, that we re-capture clarity. On the other side of every effort, is quiet. The intensity of effort is reflected in the reward. Although physically tired, we feel calm, clear and capable.

There is something magical about movement; enlivening every part of our body, filling our lungs with air, oxygenating the blood and getting every muscle activated, connected and coordinated. It reminds us that we live in our bodies, not just our minds. It reminds us what we can do, what we’re designed to do and how good that is for us. We are a sum of body and mind. One cannot be strong for long, without the other.

Exercise, meditating or doing something for ourselves brings great satisfaction. It acknowledges our individuality and replenishes our sense of self, our patience and generosity towards others. In the same way that:

…When a man’s stomach is full it makes no difference whether he is rich or poor
- Euripides

If we feel healthy, we feel wealthy. If we look after ourselves, we have far more to offer others. When we offer others more, we receive more. Lift yourself up.

At REAL we strive to inspire in our audience a curiosity in how much better they can be, mentally, physically and emotionally through physical action.

Be you - be REAL.
